2017 October Harp Concerts and Healing Harp

Dear friends of harp music,
we decided to devote tomorrow’s Harp and Healing service to the victims of Las Vegas shooting and their families, hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria victims, earthquake victims in Mexico and healing of the nation. Our hearts are heavy, please join us at 5.30 pm at the Loft of Broadway Christian Church or join us in prayer at home.
( Harp and Healing is a monthly service, first Tuesday of each month)
I would like to add this quote that resonates with me today –
“This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devoutly than ever before.” Leonard Bernstein
In days of such heartbreaking news, I am a little hesitant to share my good news, but since this is my monthly newsletter, I would like to include it. I have been working on my new CD – Romantic Harp for a while, recording last fall and this spring, then listening to edits, working closely with my graphic designer on the cover, filling out bunch of forms and  finally uploading and ordering the printing. This past weekend my new CDs finally arrived! I really like the final result, this is the CD that many people have been asking me to record, music that I have played as background to many events. I chose my favorites such as All I ask of You, Scarborough Fair, Unchained Melody, Love theme from the Godfather, Think of me, I’m happy to just dance with you, Lara’s theme from Doctor Zhivago and others. It makes a great background to a romantic dinner.
If you are interested to buy a copy, please let me know – email, text, Facebook me or just shout when you see me 🙂
They are $15 each or 2 for $25.
The CD will be available for purchase online as well on cdbaby.com, but as of right now I don’t see it added to my account yet. But once it is, just search for my name. It should also be added to ITunes soon, so you could buy the MP3 version there.
The rest of October is filled with teaching, private events, weddings and concert with the Springfield Symphony at the end of the month.
Here is town, I will be playing the Durufle Requiem on October 27th, 7pm at the First Baptist Church with the Columbia Chorale. It’s a beautiful piece and I am excited to with with Columbia Chorale again.
My students of all ages and I will be providing harp music ambiance to the Dreams – Saturday for kids at Orr Street Studios filled with crafts and activities for children, noon to 3pm on Saturday October 28th. So bring your kids or grandkids and see us there. I will be there not only with my students, but my own kids as well.
Here is hoping for a peaceful October.
